Strategic Cultural Partnerships

The division of Strategic Cultural Partnerships at William & Mary builds new and enhances existing cultural assets and collaborations. The Presidential Liaison for Strategic Cultural Partnerships is responsible for leading engagement with key external partners and facilitating connections with university initiatives and experts. Through effective coordination and communication, this unit identifies and promotes opportunities to sustain and reinterpret William & Mary’s historical and cultural resources, increase the visibility and impact of the university's cultural projects and programs, and advance the priorities of these initiatives at the local, state, national, and international level.

External Partner Relationships

Advance relationships with Colonial Williamsburg and other external partners to maximize cultural opportunities, promote shared priorities, and increase visibility and impact. Facilitate synergies between external partners and William & Mary programs and projects.

Bray School Lab

Establish and develop William & Mary’s Bray School Lab and partner with Colonial Williamsburg in the collaborative Williamsburg Bray School Initiative. Advance research and community engagement related to the re-discovered Bray School structure and history and the related goal of creating a more complex, nuanced and inclusive story of our nation's founding. 

2026 Commemoration

Coordinate William & Mary’s participation in and contributions to the 2026 commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Connect university initiatives with those of local, regional, state and national partners to help position Williamsburg as a hub for this significant moment.

Cultural Assets at W&M

Oversee the Muscarelle Museum of Art, the Omohundro Institute of Early American History & Culture,  and research at James Monroe’s Highland.  Support efforts to steward the preservation and interpretation of William & Mary’s historic campus
