Off Campus Programs

William & Mary offers many ways to engage knowledge and communities outside the classroom.

For information about off-campus travel and study away and study abroad programs, please consult the links below.

Types of Programs
  • Joint Degree Program:  Participating students complete two years at W&M and two years at St Andrews University in Scotland.
  • Study Abroad: The Global Education Office can help you find a program where you study outside the U.S. for the summer, a semester, a year, or over the winter break. They can help you with both W&M sponsored and non-W&M programs.
  • W&M in Washington, D.C. Program: The Washington Center supports courses and internship experiences that take place in Washington, D.C.
  • Internships: You can experience a professional work environment and earn academic credit. To qualify for credit, the internship must be supervised by a professor and include both hands-on and academic components.
  • Take classes elsewhere: Under special circumstances, it's possible to take a class at another U.S. university or program and transfer those credits to W&M as elective credit. These courses may not be used to satisfy degree requirements without specific pre-authorization.
