Anja Keil

Anja Keil (she/her) received her master’s degree in English and Biology at the University of Münster (Germany). Her research focuses on marginalized voices in the state of exception, exploring the intersection of queer studies, trauma studies and the paradigm of state(s) of exception in a transcultural setting. She most recently worked as a lecturer and research associate for English didactics at the University of Jena (Germany), exploring the possibilities of using graphic novels in young adult education.

Furthermore, she worked as a German language fellow and lecturer at Vassar College (New York) during the 2018-2019 academic year and taught German and English to children whose families sought refuge in Germany after 2015. Her teaching interests revolve around interdisciplinary and transcultural communication, (multimodal) contemporary literature, transgenerational German identity, as well as gender and sexuality, and migration.
