The Department of Modern Languages & Literatures graduates upwards of 70 majors per year, with concentrations in Chinese, French, German, and Hispanic Studies, and minors in Italian, Japanese, Arabic and Russian Language and Literature. In addition, many of our students also major in interdisciplinary programs such as Global Studies, Russian & Post Soviet Studies, and International Relations, or combine a Modern Languages major with one in Business or Education.*
Our students go on to graduate school and careers both domestically and overseas in nonprofit and government work, law, international relations, medicine, business and academia. With their broad exposure to the global society in which we live, our alumni have a wide choice of careers.
We invite alumni and friends to explore the various sections of our website for current information about students, alumni, faculty, and departmental news. We hope you’ll also send us your news so we can share your accomplishments with others.
* As of 2010, MLL is partnering with the School of Education to offer certification in foreign language education to future K-12 teachers.
