Malena Santana earned her degree in sociology at the National University of La Plata. In Argentina, she works at the Provincial Commission for Memory, a state and public institution dedicated to the promotion of memory and human rights, in a study program for W&M students. She is also pursuing a Master's degree in Latin American Studies at UNSAM (Universidad Nacional de San Martin) where she focuses on studies of the recent past and political violence in Latin America.
