Background

Geneva Cole is a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Race, Ethnicity, and Politics in the Department of Government. Her research interests are primarily  in American political behavior and include identity politics, racial and criminal justice, and applications of transitional justice to the United States context. Her research has been published in Social Science Quarterly and featured in the Washington Post, MinnPost, and the UCL Centre for US Politics Working Paper Series in American Politics. Part of her dissertation research was recognized with the Seymour Sudman Student Paper Award from the American Association for Public Opinion Research in 2023.

 Geneva holds a Ph.D. and MA in Political Science from the University of Chicago and her BA (summa cum laude) from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
