Alumni and Friends
Economics is a popular undergraduate major. There are almost 300 economics majors among the William and Mary student body. Each year, about 100 students graduate with a degree in Economics.
The Department of Economics is proud of its alumni and the exciting career paths they follow upon graduation. Here are some updates on where a few recent grads are working:
- Andy Duff, Class of 2008, is a Research Associate at the Center for the Study of Services, a non-profit firm in Washington, DC that administers and in some cases creates consumer-directed surveys for hospitals, health plans and other clients.
- Jon Goddard, Class of 2008, is working as a Teach for America Corps Member in New York City. He writes “Every class period, I am working to incorporate real-life examples, especially those connections that can be made with economics, with my 6th grade math students.”
- Jonas Miller, Class of 2008, is employed by Economists, Inc., a small consulting firm in Washington, DC.
- Jim Adler, Class of 2007, is employed by Deutsche Bank Securities, Inc, in New York, NY.

Prior to entering the program she worked as an IT business consultant for Accenture, and later as a research assistant at the George Washington University Medical Center Department of Health Policy.
