Priority filing dates for new and returning students as it relates to the CSS Profile and FAFSA.

Note for Returning Students:
- You can submit the 2024-2025 FAFSA as early as December 31st, 2023. We will not begin to review continuing students until mid-summer of 2024 for the 2024-2025 school year.
Early Decision I students: CSS Profile priority filing by 11/15 along with the FAFSA when it is available on December 31st. However, you may not receive your aid decision before William & Mary closes for the Winter break in December if you chose to file with the later deadline. You will be able to file for financial aid consideration beyond the final date.
Early Decision II students: FAFSA and CSS Profile priority filing by 1/15, with a final date of 3/1. However, you may not receive your aid decision before your deposit deadline if you chose to file with the later deadline. You will be able to file for financial aid consideration beyond the final date.
Regular Decision students: FAFSA and CSS Profile priority filing by 2/1, with a 3/1 final date. You will be able to file beyond the final date, however, you may not receive your aid decision before you have to make a deposit decision on May 1.
Transfer students for spring 2024: 2023 - 2024 FAFSA and CSS Profile by 10/15.
Transfer students for fall 2024: 2024 - 2025 FAFSA and CSS Profile by 3/1.
Returning undergraduate students: 2024 - 2025 FAFSA only by 4/15.
Please note that filing the CSS Profile and the FAFSA is only necessary if you are seeking need-based financial aid. They are not used by William & Mary in decisions relating to the awarding of merit-based resources.
Our FAFSA School Code is 003705, and our CSS Profile code is 5115.
Given the delays in receiving FAFSA data for the 2024-25 year, William & Mary will be working to ensure that anyone experiencing challenges with filing the FAFSA will still be given full consideration of financial aid eligibility, even if the FAFSA is received after the published deadlines.
