9/11 GI Bill Funds

Under the new "last payer" provision for Post-9/11 funds recipients, two William & Mary programs that pay for in-state tuition and fees make Virginia domicile recipients of these funds ineligible for tuition coverage through the Post-9/11 GI Bill. The Virginia residents receiving the William & Mary Scholars Awards and 1693 Scholarships will be considered to have their tuition and fees already covered through these two programs. They are still potentially eligible for living and book allowances.

Out-of-state students will still be able to receive up to the difference between in- and out-of-state tuition from Post-9/11 funds. For example, an out-of-state student has a semester tuition and fees bill of $23,427. They could receive both W&M Scholar and 1693 Scholars funding for the $11,814 for Virginia tuition and fees, plus up to $11,814 from the Post-9/11 program.
