Encouraging Open Dialogue at William & Mary

William & Mary strives to ensure a campus environment in which each community member is able to engage in open discourse. We encourage civil discourse around challenging subjects and maintain democracy as a pillar of the community. We respect and uphold academic freedom. Learning how to engage in productive discussions about sensitive and complex issues is a hallmark of the educational experience.
William & Mary expects community members and visitors to treat each other with respect as they participate in these learning opportunities.
