Genevieve Stemann

Background

As the Administrative and Fiscal Coordinator for the Civic & Community Engagement office, Genevieve Stemann oversees transactions for the diverse programs offered by the department. She also manages the van pool ensuring students have reliable transportation to their community volunteer work.

Genevieve received a B.S. in Marketing Management from Virginia Tech in 1987. After graduating, she worked for Best Products as a jewelry store manager and as a fine jewelry buyer. She has been happily married since 1989. For many years, she was an active volunteer with Avalon, JCC Adult Protective Services, JCC Victim Assistance Advocate, and the United Way. Genevieve is the proud mother of twin daughters whom she homeschooled. She counts having been a foster parent for a little boy as one of the greatest joys of her life.

After 18 years at home, when her daughters left for UVa & VCUarts, she returned to the workforce. Genevieve came to William & Mary from James City County, where she served in the department of social services.

Genevieve’s goal is to camp at every Virginia state park. She loves traveling to new places, walking the Lake Matoaka trail, making lists, enjoying Broadway shows, and big dogs.
