William & Mary students have the chance to have their artwork featured across campus during Charter Day 2011.

Charter Day marks the anniversary of day on which King William III and Queen Mary II of England awarded the College its royal charter.

Students are invited to submit two-dimensional art for the fourth annual Charter Day juried art show. The student whose work is selected will received a monetary prize, and his or her entry will be used on Charter Day invitations, banners and the event program. It will also be added to the president’s collection of faculty and student art.

Amanda Wagstaff ‘10 won the 2010 competition with her watercolor painting of Barrett Hall.

Entries may be prints, collages, photographs, drawings or paintings. Each piece should have some connection to William & Mary and can feature anything from campus life, landscapes and iconic campus faces to classrooms and architectural details such as archways and doors. Students who are in art classes are encouraged to submit class assignments.

Entries must be submitted to the art and art history office in Andrews 208 by Nov. 5. The winner will be announced shortly following Thanksgiving break.
