President Katherine A. Rowe issued the following statement regarding Gov. Ralph Northam’s announcement Tuesday about increased restrictions for the Hampton Roads area due to a rise of COVID-19 cases. - Ed.

The health and wellness of our students, neighbors, faculty and staff is William & Mary’s top priority. We continue to monitor closely the COVID-19 data and evolving guidance from local, state and federal health officials. Gov. Northam announced new restrictions today on the Hampton Roads region, including the Peninsula. We are assessing what these mean for short- and long-term operations at William & Mary.
