The Charles and Virginia Duke Award

Objective

To provide recognition and financial reward for individual accomplishment and exemplary service to the College of William & Mary.

Eligible Participants

All non student, non instructional faculty employees of the College of William & Mary, or one of the contractors providing auxiliary services to the College, are eligible for consideration.

Guidelines

All William & Mary personnel are encouraged to consider Charles and Virginia Duke's long and devoted service to the College of William & Mary as they reflect on the nominations.

There is no obligation to submit a nomination. No nomination should be submitted if the criteria for the Charles and Virginia Duke Award cannot be met.

An individual nomination will consist of one nominator's letter and a maximum of three supporting letters. No additional materials will be considered.

The nominations should be reflective of the College's diversified workforce and consideration should be given to all employees who have made outstanding individual contributions.

Award

The award will be presented to the recipient by the President of the College of William & Mary. 

The recipient of the award will be listed in the program and recognized at Commencement.

The recipient of the award will be presented with a plaque, a cash award and a booklet describing Charles and Virginia Duke's extraordinary service to the College of William & Mary.

A permanent plaque containing the name of the recipients of the Duke Award will be placed in a prominent location on campus.
