Biology students awarded for presentations
Mary Seward and Melissa Hey '15 were recognized for their oral presentations at the Annual Meeting of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the Ecological Society of America (ESA). Ms. Seward won First Place in the graduate student competition and received a cash award as well as a travel scholarship to attend the National Meeting of ESA. Her presentation was on the effects of density dependence on milkweed demography.
Melissa Hey received Honorable Mention in the undergraduate competition, which also came with a cash award. She presented her honors thesis' research on the effects of herbivory and competition on plant defenses.The meeting was held April 18 at Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania.
