• Professor Emeritus Herb Funsten, a fixture in the physics department for a remarkable 39 years, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2007.
• Kelly Kluttz receives the 2007  Rolf G. Winter Memorial Physics Graduate Student Award
• Professor Griffioen, Chair of the Physics Department, one of 2006 APS Fellows
• Professor Orginos awarded one of three 2007 DOE's OJI(Outstanding Junior Investigator) awards which is a highly competitive grant for starting faculty for Nuclear Physics.
