Faculty Assembly
The Faculty Assembly of William & Mary is the elected faculty body that regularly advises the President and the Provost on matters affecting the welfare of the university and that ensures effective faculty participation in the governance of the university as a whole.
The Assembly represents the six faculties of the university: Arts & Sciences, Business, Education, Law, Marine Science, and Computing, Data Sciences, and Physics. There are eight constituencies: Arts & Sciences Areas I, II, and III, Business, Education, Law, Marine Science, and Computing, Data Sciences, and Physics.
The Assembly has twenty-three voting members: four from each of the three areas in Arts & Sciences, two from each of the professional schools, and the faculty representative to the Board of Visitors. A non-voting clinical or teaching faculty member will be added if all of the elected members are all tenure-eligible.
