The Operations Subcommittee (OPS) is the primary operations planning arm of COS. OPS is responsible for developing and recommending plans promoting sustainability through physical plant and campus operations. The Dorm Mania Working Group is led by student [[e|mbhalloran, Mary Bea Halloran '20]]
Dorm Mania collects dorm items in the spring and sell it yard sale style during fall move-in to divert these items from the landfill. This extremely successful group has kept thousands of pounds of items from becoming trash!
The Bottle Filling Station Working Group is led by Gregg Shipp and [[e|kjparker, Kyle Parker '18]]
COS created a strategic plan for increasing the number of bottle filling stations across the campus in partnership with Facilities and student organization, Take Back the Tap. This group works to identify and install stations in high traffic buildings across campus based on specific critieria.
The Diversion Working Group is led by Eden Harris, Associate Director of Marketing for Auxiliary Services
This group is responsible for exploring reduce and reuse efforts, evaluating the diversion of campus waste from the landfill, including food waste, and messaging and communication.
