The Charles Center offers a number of scholarships for current undergraduate students to fund summer research in the humanities, government/social sciences, and hard sciences. The majority of these awards are $3,000 to support seven full-time weeks of research during the summer. Application deadlines are early in the spring semester.
William & Mary Honors Fellowships support students conducting research for department Honors projects the summer before senior year. An Honors Fellowship is a $4,000 summer grant to conduct 10 full-time weeks of pre-Honors research and up to $1,000 for the student and faculty to draw on for project-related expenses. The additional $1,000 will be made available to the faculty advisor’s department from the Charles Center. Application deadlines are early in the spring semester.
Semester Research Funding
The purpose of the Semester Research Funding Program is to assist students with expenses directly related to the conduct of research. Funding for the Program comes from two sources: the Office of the Vice Provost for Research and the Reves Center. The funds are collectively called Semester Research (Applications will be accepted before May 1 and after September 1 every academic year.)
