Yi Hao(郝意) has joined the Confucius Institute at William & Mary as a student intern in September 2013. Presently a student of Beijing Normal University, she is pursuing her Master’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. Her academic interests are wide-spreading: including Language Acquisition, Translation Theories and Cultural Comparison Studies.
During her four-year studying as an undergraduate, Yi has not only tutored foreign students who came to China in the University of Washington-Sichuan University Chinese Language programs, but also taught English and Chinese classes at local middle schools. Now she is doing an internship in William & Mary Confucius Institute to conduct both language and cultural courses. Before this internship, Yi’s been trained extensively on teaching skills. What’s more, she’s also been trained in Calligraphy, Chinese ink and wash painting, Chinese knotting and Taichi. Her interests also span to Chinese ancient poems, modern novels, writing, dancing, Chinese folk songs, and cooking.
