Lu Cui (崔璐) joined the Confucius Institute at William & Mary as a Volunteer Teacher in July 2015. She is a graduate student from Beijing Normal University, with a concentration in Foreign Applied Linguistics (English Education). Lu received her B.A. from Sichuan University and her High School English Teaching Certificate in 2014. Along with her academic interest in second language acquisition and teaching methodology, Lu gained hands-on teaching experience by working as part-time English tutor. She also loves traditional Chinese culture and has volunteered as a guide in the Museum of Sichuan University for two years introducing the collections and antiques in the museum to visitors.

Dedicated to promoting Chinese culture internationally, Lu has been trained extensively on teaching Chinese language and traditional arts, such as Chinese Calligraphy, Paper-Cutting, and Chinese Knotting, by Hanban, the Confucius Institute Headquarters.
