Dandan Jin (靳丹丹) has recently joined the Confucius Institute at the College of William and Mary in September, 2013. She is currently a Master student at Beijing Normal University, majoring in Foreign and Applied Linguistics. The research area for her Master Degree study is Second Language Acquisition and Language Testing Theories. During five years of her study in BNU, she has worked as an intern language teacher in both elementary and secondary schools in China. In 2012, she visited Michigan State University on a short-term exchange program cooperated by the Global Educators Cohort Program in MSU College of Education and the Center of Teachers’ Education and Research in BNU. In the same year, she volunteered to be a primary school teacher at a local public shool in the capital city of Nepal. From such experiences, she has developed an interest in the contrast and comparison between different educational systems.
