Summer 2018 Research Fellowship

Announcing the 100 Years of W&M Women Summer Research Fellowship:
A Mentored Undergraduate Research Opportunity

The Charles Center is pleased to invite undergraduate summer research proposals focusing on women at W&M. Students awarded the 100 Years of Women Summer Research Fellowship will work with sponsoring W&M faculty advisors over the summer of 2018 and may present their findings at Women's Weekend in September, 2018; Homecoming in October, 2018; and other anniversary occasions, as well as the Charles Center Summer Research Showcase.

The seven-to-ten week fellowship includes $3000 in summer research support for the student and a $1000 faculty stipend. We invite proposals that explore any and all issues related to William & Mary women, and especially those that touch on themes the anniversary will explore during 2018-19.

Depending on the project, this fellowship will include training in archival research and/or collection of oral histories from professional archivists and oral historians.

The Charles Center will be requesting proposals in January, 2018 with a deadline of February, 2018. Faculty and students are urged to consider possible research topics now.
