Carter Trousdale ’20

Major: {{,International Relations}}

Carter Trousdale might be called a Renaissance man — one minute explaining how to play the ukulele, the next, discussing the policy perils of Brexit. Passionate about connecting people across cultures, Carter speaks French and is developing in Arabic, Russian, and German. He studied abroad in Morocco and has had internships on three continents, the latest of which was working for the U.S. Department of State at the U.S. Mission to NATO in Brussels, Belgium. In addition to being a former NCAA varsity student-athlete, he has had the honor of being a Robert M. Gates Scholar and a Benjamin A. Gilman Scholar.

Carter transferred to William & Mary because he wanted to be challenged. "At William & Mary I'm challenged to grow every day by new ideas, conceptions, and perspectives — by other students in my classes and pretty much everyone who opens their mouth and speaks here. It's just an amazing environment.” After graduation, Carter accepted a position as a management consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton, a top management consulting firm in Washington, DC. In this role, he applies his critical thinking skills to solving challenges and serving clients across the federal government.
