Role & Responsibilities
Justin supervises a six-person creative team consisting of three designers, our campus photographer and two student design interns. His team is responsible for deploying dozens of multifaceted, multimedia branding and creative projects annually, including over 100 publications. He leads design for wm.edu, managing web communication templates for over 100,000 webpages and the diverse needs of undergraduate and graduate schools.
Justin is a standing member of multiple branding, marketing and design working groups across campus and serves as the primary author of William & Mary’s brand guidelines. He spearheads diplomatic efforts to build bridges between the main university brand and the efforts of school-, department- and unit-level faculty and staff.
Justin has received training from William & Mary's Supervisor's Institute. He has had the privilege of presenting at the Virginia Economic Developers Association Conference, at the College Communicators Association of Virginia, and for HighEdWeb. He has served on multiple Council for the Advancement and Support of Education judging committees and has guest lectured in graduate-level courses in higher ed branding at the William & Mary School of Education.
Outside his role at W&M, Justin is an active entrepreneur and is a founding partner and the Managing Director of Colour Outside, a branding and marketing agency with clients in more than ten states and in Europe.
