The Haven currently offers in-person, virtual, or phone appointments. From the link, you can select your appointment format, date, and time. Due to an increase in requests for appointments, we can not always accommodate requests for particular staff members. Drop-in (no appointment necessary) hours are also available with peer advocates.

Drop-in Hours with a Confidential Peer Advocate*
  • Sunday through Thursday: 11:00am - 7:00pm
  • Friday & Saturday: 12:00pm-5:00pm

*Please note that during add/drop and exams, The Haven drop-in hours will vary to accommodate peer advocate schedules. Drop-in hours are not available during university closures, holidays, and breaks. Instead, please make an appointment using the link above.

Emily Burkholder is the Graduate Assistant for The Haven, and a current student in the Masters in Couples, Marriage, and Family Counseling Program. Emily attended William & Mary as an undergraduate and volunteered with The Haven as a Peer Advocate, worked in sexual misconduct prevention and education on campus through Someone You Know, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Linguistics.

Liz Cascone is the Director of The Haven at William & Mary, a peer-based confidential advocacy center for those impacted by sexual violence, intimate-partner violence, stalking, and other gender-based discrimination. Liz previously worked at the Virginia Sexual & Domestic Violence Action Alliance for 10 years coordinating programming related to primary prevention. Liz has extensive experience in prevention planning and program development, which is rooted in public health and social justice principles. Liz has a master’s degree in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University and is currently a supervisee in social work, working toward clinical licensure.
