Students Uniting for Sustainable Training, Adaption, Innovation, and Networking
The student peer educator group of W&M Sustainability, SUSTAIN students collaborate with other student groups to plan and implement outreach on any one of the seventeen Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's).
The upcoming cohort will tackled the sustainable development goal: Quality Education.
Mission
To increase the audience and diversity of students who understand sustainability and see it as relevant and applicable to them.
What We Do
SUSTAIN acts as a convening and coordinating group, working with other student groups to create programming that is jointly executed in a campaign. Ideally, partnering student groups would range in perspectives and areas, demonstrating the multi-faceted nature of sustainability and the SDG’s. If your group is interested in being a partner, please contact [[sustain]].
SDG campaigns are assisted by faculty and staff mentors closely associated with the chosen SDG who provide direction and feedback on resources, data, events, and campus connections.
SDG campaigns run in cycles. One semester is spent planning and the next is spent implementing. In any given semester, two campaigns are working, one campaign is in the planning stage, while another (planned the previous semester) is in the implementation stage.
