Programs and Education Subcommittee

The Programs and Education Subcommittee (PEDS) is the primary educational arm of COS. PEDS is responsible for evaluating and making recommendations to the Steering Committee on integrating academic programs, student body, and staff into the effort to promote a sustainable campus.  PEDS is co-chaired by Professor James Kaste and student [[e|ajdavidson, Abby Davidson '19]].  

Fall for Sustainability Event, Jenny Fam MAEd '21

Earth Week, Julia Montgomery '20 (chair) and Madeline Brown '21

Earth Week takes place in April the week prior or the week of Earth Day. Campus activities are capped off with an Earth Day Festival that Saturday! This group tracks and advertises campus Earth Week events and plans the final Earth Day Festival. The planning of this event starts in the fall and provides the opportunity for collaboration with many student, faculty, and staff, as well as community members.

Green Events, Calandra Waters Lake and Jenny Fam MAEd '21

This group will determine the current landscape of event planning and green resources available, create a green events guide for campus users, and suggest/explore possible areas for improvement. Meetings are open to any interested and contributing faculty, staff or students.
