Summary

New year. New opportunities. SLD Shares Staffing Updates for 19-20

Full Description

We are looking forward to the start of the new academic year.  Fresh starts and new opportunities are part of the energy of campus in the fall semester.  SLD has its own set of new opportunities ahead that are part of a planned reorganization in Student Engagement & Leadership (our thematic unit within Student Affairs).

There’s lots happening – but here are some of the biggest highlights:

  • Anne Strickland has been promoted to Asst. Director of Student Leadership Development and will share oversight for the Fraternity/Sorority Community with Joe Wheeless (Asst. Director).
  • Anne Arseneau will take on new responsibilities advising Student Assembly under her role as Director.
  • The Scheduling Office (Julie Davenport & Laura Sullivan-Goodman) has moved and is now part of Student Unions & Engagement and their office is over in the Sadler Center.
  • Speaking of moving…Trici Fredrick and Brad Ward have also joined the team in Student Unions & Engagement (SUE) in new (promoted!) roles with physical offices in Sadler Center.
    • Trici is the new Senior Associate Director in SUE and will be working on several initiatives including Campus Wide Events, Event Management, and Scheduling and Space Use (with oversight for the Scheduling Office)
    • Brad is the new Asst. Director in SUE and will continue to advise and support Alma Mater Productions in this role.
  • Brenda Borden has joined the team in Student Leadership Development as our new Administrative Coordinator.
  • Jennifer Leung (Associate Director) and Chelsea Spady (Financial Operations Specialist) will continue to serve the needs of recognized student organizations in their roles. Chelsea will take on advising responsibility for the Media Council and she has also moved down the hall to Room 209.
  • We will welcome T.J. Horan and Tori LeFevre as our new Graduate Assistants this semester.
  • The Leadership Lounge will launch in the fall semester with new programs and resources for student organizations – we look forward to sharing more about this exciting new space for our office!

There’s lots of great change ahead – but at the heart of it, SLD Staff remain committed to supporting students and student organizations in the practice field of leadership.  We can’t wait for a great year ahead!!!
