How Does Your Organization Exemplify W&M's Values

In November 2019, William & Mary officially adopted a Statement of Values which identified the following core values for the institution: Belonging, Curiosity, Excellence, Flourishing, Integrity, Respect, and Service. We want to hear from leaders of Recognized Student Organizations about all the ways your student organization advances and exemplifies W&M's newly adopted and affirmed values.

In November 2019, William & Mary officially adopted a Statement of Values which identified the following core values for the institution: Belonging, Curiosity, Excellence, Flourishing, Integrity, Respect, and Service.

We want to hear from leaders of Recognized Student Organizations about all the ways your student organization advances and exemplifies W&M's newly adopted and affirmed values. Please submit a reflection (you can include a photo) about how your organization exemplifies W&M values so that we can share the collective story of engagement and involvement through student organizations. We will share this story through various mediums: social media, websites, presentations, videos, etc.

Organizations that submit information will be entered into a raffle.  The winning organization will get to select from the following prizes:

  • One Day Rental of an SLD Van (valued at $75)
  • Use of the Food Lion Card to purchase snacks/food for an organization event, not to exceed $50
  • Up to $50 in organization/event supplies; to be purchased through SLD
  • Up to $50 for printing (can be used at SLD copy machine OR the Print Shop)

**Organizations may submit one entry per value, for a maximum of 7 entries.

Bonus Recognition………Additionally, entries submitted by March 1st will be eligible for the following:

For each of the seven values, SLD will select one organization to highlight.  Highlighted organizations will be featured in the RSO Newsletter, on the Student Leadership Development website, and other social media.

At the end of the semester, the seven highlighted organizations will be entered into a contest for a Grand Prize.  The winner of the Grand Prize will get to select either a pop-up banner or a tablecloth customized with the organization name/logo; this will be available to the organization in time for the Student Organizations and Activities Fair in August. The winner of this contest will be selected by the Division of Student Affairs.
