Prospective Students and Families

If you are either a high school student considering William & Mary or you are a potential transfer student and you are wondering about the diversity of our campus community, then be sure to check out Autumn Blast and ESCAPE.  These programs offered by the Office of Undergraduate Admission are opportunities to see campus life up close as you spend time with current students.

Parents and Families of Current Students

Parent & Family Programs facilitates and advocates for the role of family involvement in community development and individual student success. The program provides resources and activities that connect families with each other and within the W&M community.

Currently, the William & Mary Alumni Association offers two cultural/identity focused Affinity Groups:

The Hulon Willis Association

HWA was founded in 1992, by and for African-American alumni. Hulon Willis Association is named after the first African-American alumnus of William & Mary and is dedicated to encouraging fellowship among alumni, promoting the interests of the Alumni Association and the College and enhancing the quality of life for current African-American students at the College through scholarship opportunities as well as other avenues of involvement. HWA has established the Hulon Willis Sr. Memorial Scholarship Endowment to provide financial assistance for students who actively contribute to the multicultural community at William & Mary. The opportunities provided by the scholarship not only assist deserving students who exemplify the qualities of HWA, but also assist in the Association's efforts to enrich the diversity of the William & Mary community.

GALA: The College's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Alumni Association

Formed in 1986, the College's LGBTQ Alumni Association has grown into an international network of hundreds of loyal alumni and friends of the College. The organization has contributed greatly to the academic richness of the College, through extensive contributions to Swem Library as well cosponsorship of the annual homecoming Boswell Lecture and spring Boswell Initiative Symposium. At Homecoming, GALA sponsors a full weekend of events where members and friends socialize, renew old acquaintances, and make new ones.
