The Studio for Teaching & Learning Innovation (STLI) supports the intentional development of innovative teaching across the entire William & Mary community.
The Studio is located on the ground floor of Swem Library in G64. STLI embodies the institution's commitment to expanding, enhancing and improving our students' educational experiences. The establishment of an integrated studio provides a unique opportunity to coordinate existing initiatives devoted to teaching effectiveness while creating new opportunities to ignite and incubate innovative ideas.
The Studio will coordinate university-wide initiatives to engage faculty, students and staff as learning partners to engage students in learning. The four key goals for the studio are to:
- Enhance teaching and learning
- Foster innovation
- Curate resources and make them discoverable
- Develop strategic partnerships with entities on campus and beyond
STLI also serves as a resource hub, with a range of on-demand resources, ranging from quick tips or tools that can be applied immediately to in-depth help developing a new course or revising an existing one. Faculty projects and publications they generate focused on teaching and learning will be showcased in the University Libraries Scholarly Portal. In all of these areas, the Studio will work in partnership with departments, programs, and units on campus to advance university-wide thinking related to teaching and learning.
