Student Accessibility
Review by May 20
Creating a barrier-free environment.
Student Accessibility Services (SAS) works with faculty and university offices to offer a variety of services for all William & Mary students who have disabilities. SAS provides students with reasonable and appropriate accommodation for the duration of their time at the university.
Housing Related Accommodations
Students with documented disabilities can request accommodations in housing through Student Accessibility Services (SAS). Requests and documentation must be received by June 1, 2023. SAS will schedule you for an intake appointment. SAS notifies Residence Life of any approved accommodations.
After the deadline, SAS will process requests as soon as possible, but approvals may be delayed due to housing availability and other factors.

Requesting Academic & Non-Housing Related Accommodations
Reasonable and appropriate accommodations are determined through a flexible, interactive process involving the student and Student Accessibility Services (SAS) staff. Final responsibility for selecting the most appropriate accommodation rests with SAS. To ensure adequate review and time for a productive interactive process, new students should submit requests no later than July 30, 2023. Once SAS receives completed registration and documentation information, SAS will schedule you for an intake appointment.
SAS will process requests received after the deadline as soon as possible, but approvals may be delayed.
Requesting Orientation Transportation-Related Support
Students with mobility-related disabilities can request mobility assistance during orientation. To do so, please submit your request and supporting documentation to Student Accessibility Services (SAS) no later than August 5, 2023. SAS will review the request promptly and if necessary, schedule you for an intake appointment. For requests received after the deadline, SAS will review them as soon as possible, but approval may be delayed.
SAS will notify the student and Parking & Transportation Services of any approved support, and Parking and Transportation then will work directly with the student to finalize the arrangements.
We encourage you to review our links to state agencies and Virginia's Wounded Warrior Program, which provides services for veterans and their families. If you do not see what you need, please do not hesitate to contact SAS.
