Meet the Staff

Hayden Cochran M.Ed ‘23 - Program Director  

Hayden Cochran

Hayden earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science & American Studies with minors in Religious Studies and the Philosophy of Law at Christopher Newport University in 2020. He then went on to serve as an Undergraduate Admission Officer at CNU before starting his Master’s Degree in Educational Policy, Planning & Leadership with a focus on Higher Education Administration at William & Mary. Hayden currently serves as the graduate assistant for programming within the Student Unions & Engagement department while also interning with the William & Mary Law School Admissions office. Hayden can’t wait for Leadership by Design this summer and is most excited about connecting students with amazing leadership opportunities, skills, and experiences both on-campus and in the Williamsburg community. He is also excited for students to meet the amazing Leadership by Design staff and speakers and gain meaningful relationships and mentorships that they can rely on throughout their journeys in high school, college, and future careers!

 

Megan Kaiser M.Ed ‘23 - Program Coordinator
Megan Kaiser  

Megan earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Global Studies at Loyola University Maryland in 2021 and is currently earning her Master’s of Education at William & Mary in Educational Policy, Planning & Leadership with a focus on Higher Education Administration. She currently serves as a graduate assistant in the Student Transition and Engagement Program office and is the President of the Higher Education Student Association. When asked what she is most excited about for Leadership by Design this summer, Megan stated, “I am very excited to meet all of the students and help them through an amazing summer experience! We have a ton of great speakers and activities lined up to help prepare students for college or your post-educational plans. I am very excited to see the students grow as leaders this summer!” A fun fact about Megan is that she has lived in 6 different states and 1 foreign country! 

 

Kyle Lewis-Johnson - Counselor 

Kyle Lewis Johnson

Kyle is a rising sophomore at William & Mary and majoring in Chemistry with a minor in biochemistry. On-campus he is involved with the Undergraduate Honor Council, a member of Alma Mater Production's Live Committee, William & Mary’s chapter of the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers, and also the Let Freedom Ring Foundation of Williamsburg's Education and Scholarship Committee as a partner of the First Baptist Church of Williamsburg. When asked what he is most excited about for Leadership by Design this summer, Kyle stated, “I am most excited about being able to help students in and around the community become better leaders and learn how to trust their judgment and gain core values in regard to being a leader in their own communities. I am also excited to learn more about students and hear more about their backgrounds and what qualities of their lives help them to want to become leaders and facilitate change within their lives and others.” A fun fact about Kyle is that he is a fraternal twin and graduated high school at 16!

 

Molly Dye - Counselor 

Molly Dye

Molly is a rising sophomore at William & Mary and majoring in Anthropology & History. She currently serves on the Impact committee for Alma Mater Productions as well as a peer advisor for other students. Molly is excited about connecting with students and helping them grow their leadership skills in the Leadership by Design program this summer. She also can’t wait to ​​guide students through William and Mary and have them experience a small part of what it is like living on campus. A fun fact about Molly is that she is an expert tap dancer and has been doing it for over 10 years!

 

Taylor Fox - Counselor 

Taylor Fox

Taylor is a rising junior at William & Mary with majors in Government & Sociology and a concentration in Criminology, Law, and Society. Her involvements at William & Mary include African Culture Society, Black Student Organization, Student Rights Initiative, Student Assembly, Internal Communication Modernization, Student Organization Recognition Committee, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Minorities in Pre-Law: Treasurer, and the Leadership and Authentic Excellence Cohort. When asked what she is most excited about for Leadership by Design this summer she said, “I can't wait to give all program participants a small taste of the college experience of the beautiful William & Mary Campus. I aspire to be a resource to everyone and provide everyone with an equitable experience. I can't wait to explore leadership with all of you while having fun!” A fun fact about Taylor is that she loves flowers and maintains several gardens at her house and at her grandparent's house!

 

Sarah Bomar - Counselor 

Sarah Bomar

Sarah is a rising Junior at William & Mary with majors in Sociology & Environmental Science. Her involvements at William & Mary include being a student employee in the Sadler Center, WCWM Radio, Alma Mater Productions, Student Assembly, and Student Transition and Engagement Programs! She can’t wait to welcome students for Leadership by Design 2022 and is most excited about hanging with students outside, playing fun games, and getting to know everybody. She’s especially excited to learn and grow alongside students -  stating “they always teach me so much about what it means to be a leader!” A fun fact about Sarah is that when she was 6, she got to be an extra in High School Musical 3 (spoiler alert: Corbin Bleu is actually really bad at basketball!)
