Evaluating Study Abroad Transcripts for W&M Credit
Foreign transcripts must be received from the host institution before credits can be evaluated. Please arrange to have your final study abroad transcript sent to:Debi DeBacco
Reves Center for International Studies
College of William & Mary
PO Box 8795
If for any reason your host institution sends your transcript to your home address, do not open the envelope. Bring the transcript in the sealed envelope to the Reves Center; we cannot accept opened transcripts. If the transcript has been opened, you will need to request a new transcript to be sent directly to the Reves Center, at the address above.
When the Reves Center receives your official transcript, it will be checked "received" on-line. If a department chair or designee requests a copy of your official host institution transcript, you may obtain a copy from the Reves Center during regular office hours (Monday thru Friday, 11:00am-5:00pm).
Requesting Further Host Institution Transcripts
While in some cases the W&M transcript showing your transfer credits from abroad may suffice, most graduate/professional schools require original transcripts from study abroad host institutions in addition to other application materials. If official transcripts from your study abroad experience are required, you will have to request them directly from the institution abroad or the program through which you studied. If you would like a letter from our office confirming that 1) you registered your study abroad with the Reves Center, 2) transfer credit from your study abroad is shown on your W&M transcript, and 3) official transcripts can only be obtained from your host institution abroad, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
