About Lilly

Hi everyone! My name is Lilly, and I am originally from Germany but have lived in a variety of countries since I was 16 years old, including Qatar and the United Kingdom. I have only recently moved to the United States and just started my Ph.D. at the William & Mary Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS), where I study harmful algal blooms! Due to many years abroad, I have been fortunate enough to be part of some exceptional international communities. As an ISAB board member, I am trying to provide and promote the same: an international community in which every individual feels included, well-taken care of and heard. I am especially eager to support the VIMS international student body and strengthen its connection to the international community at the William & Mary main campus.
