In May 2021, William & Mary and Beijing Normal University (BNU) agreed to establish a sister university relationship to begin July 1, 2021. The initial agreement (pdf) will last for five years.
The William & Mary-BNU Collaborative Partnership encourages direct contact and cooperation between their faculty members, departments, schools, and other research centers in fields of teaching and research, including:
- Joint research activities, publications, and library exchanges;
- Invitations to scholars and researchers from both institutions for lectures, talks and discussions, and participation in conferences, colloquia and symposia;
- Exchanges of faculty members and students for study, teaching and research.
The partnership will build on and strengthen existing relationships and will create new intellectual and academic opportunities across the entire university, in all departments and professional schools. It will also find ways to engage the Williamsburg community.
We will post events and announcements stemming from the new partnership on this website.
