Who is eligible to reside in the Graduate Complex during the summer?

Priority for space in the Graduate Complex during summer 2019 will be given to students enrolled in W&M summer courses or a W&M credit-bearing activity that is conducted over the summer.   If space permits rooms may be offered to individuals who have been enrolled at W&M in the prior Spring Semester (2019), OR will be enrolled in the upcoming Fall Semester (2019).

What are the room rates for summer?
Projected Summer 2019 Rates - Graduate Complex
Double Apartments $2546 full summer $31.05 per day
Triple/Quad Apartments $2514 full summer $30.67 per day

If you are not currently on an academic year and summer contract and you want to stay in the Graduate Complex after Noon on May 13, 2019, what do you do?

You must fill out an summer housing application.

If you want to arrive to graduate housing for the fall before August 10, 2019, is that possible?

The Graduate Complex officially opens for check-in on Saturday, August 10, 2019. Early arrivals are not guaranteed and are will only be granted to those students who need to arrive early for an academic purpose; i.e. MBA Boot camp.  Requests for early arrival must be made in writing to [[living, Residence Life]]

I'm a current resident, can I stay in my current apartment?

That depends. Residents on an academic year and summer contract will be able to stay in their current apartment. Current residents on an academic year only  contract who apply by the priority deadline of April 6 should be able to remain in their current apartment. For both of these situations, the only reason you may be temporarily assigned to another apartment is if Facilities Management needs to complete major maintenance work in the apartment.

Current residents who apply for summer housing after April 6 may or may not be able to remain in their current apartment. New and incoming resident assignments, as well as room change assignments, are made in the days immediately following the April 6 deadline. It is possible that an incoming student will be assigned to your current apartment. If this occurs, you will receive a new housing assignment for the summer.

For this reason, if there is ANY chance that you would like to stay in your apartment for any period of time after May 13th at 10:00 A.M. (when the Gradplex officially closes), you should apply for summer housing by April 6. Filling out a summer application does not bind you to accepting a summer housing offer, but it does hold your apartment so we do not immediately assign an incoming student. You can decline your summer housing offer at a later date before you sign a contract if your plans change.

Is there any work occurring at the Graduate Complex this summer?
400 & 500 buildings will undergo renovations and will not be available until Fall move in.
