Welcome to DuPont Hall! DuPont is one of the larger upper-level halls and is located near the New Campus academic buildings, close to the Recreational Center and the Dining Commons (the "Caf"). Two hundred and sixty-seven upper-level residents live in double suites on three floors. Residents in two rooms share one bathroom. Each wing on the floor has a Resident Assistant. Each floor has two lounges which are often designated as social or study lounges by the Hall Council. Each floor lounge has a small kitchenette. The center of life in DuPont is the main foyer, called "The Pit." The Pit is known for its social atmosphere. Residents can be found studying, playing games, or relaxing around the fire place. The laundry rooms are located on the 2nd floor and a large full size communal kitchen is available in the basement. DuPont Hall opened in 1964 and was named after Jessie Ball DuPont, benefactress of the University and daughter of Thomas Ball, an alumnus.
