Green & Gold Village and Randolph Complex Welcome Message

Hello and welcome to our incoming residents of Randolph Complex and Green & Gold Village! The information below will give you a brief overview of your home away from home during the 2018-2019 school year.

My name is Emily Higham and I am the Area Director of Randolph and Green & Gold Village (also referred to as GGV). Area Directors are full-time professionals that not only work, but also live on campus. We are here to facilitate the foundation of wonderful communities in our buildings and address any concerns that may come up while living and thriving on campus.

GGV is where about 450 incoming students will call home. Each community houses 36 residents. Most buildings have lounges on the first and basement levels where students come together to socialize and study. There is a full kitchen in each building. Hall Council is generally active and has made purchases based on feedback from residents which include purchasing game tables and distribution of TVs. Hall Council is a great way to get involved in the community as a whole and a way to sponsor events such as dance parties, IM teams, or pizza socials where you can meet all your neighbors in the Eagle, Lion and Griffin buildings. GGV is home to 12 RAs who live among the residents in the hall, as well as a graduate-level Hall Director.

The Randolph Complex is located on Ukrop Way across from the Commons dining hall and is home to many Language Houses, the Africana House, singles, and apartments.

Situated on New Campus, residents have easy access to William and Mary Hall, the Rec. Center, Busch Field, and Swem. There’s also easy access to all parts of campus via the trails, situated right behind the Complex. At the center of the Randolph Complex is Tazewell Hall which houses vending machines, two study lounges, a laundry room and the duty office. Residents in the Randolph Complex have access to Tazewell Hall 24 hours a day. Tazewell is a popular location for events and activities sponsored by many groups on campus. To reserve a space, please come to the duty office during open hours. Residents can also be found enjoying the picnic/grill area in the center of the Complex. With 12 amazing RAs, a Head Resident and diverse community members, this place will feel like home!

For a myriad of additional information about living with us on campus, please see our Residence Life website. We are excited to welcome you in August and kick off a great school year!

See You Soon!
