2020-21 Instructional Delivery

High-Level Categories of Course Delivery, to be listed as Class Attributes in Banner

Sections coded "RA" and "RSOF" will be available to fully-remote students.

Sections coded "FS," "MIX," and "RSOC" will have some on-campus components.

Faculty wishing to teach “dual mode” (both in-person and remote students in the same course) should ask their scheduling coordinator to have two cross-listed sections created, one FS or MIX and the other RSOF or RA, and thank you!

FS:  Face-to-face and synchronous:  These will be largely in-person, on-campus classes that meet in rooms with sufficient physical distancing for all students to be present in each class.  Some instructional material and delivery will be available through approved remote/distance methods (such as Blackboard, Google Classroom, MyLaw, or other digital tools/resources), possibly including discussions.  Corresponds to SCHEV Delivery Mode of A.

MIX:  Blend of in-person instruction with expanded remote delivery of instructional material, content, and activity:  These will have required in-person components on campus as well as learning experiences facilitated through approved remote/distance methods (such as Blackboard, Google Classroom, MyLaw, or other digital tools/resources).   Specific delivery techniques vary; one example is “flipped” instruction with recorded lectures and in-person meetings of one-half or one-third of students or other blended techniques. Details will be available on the syllabus.  Corresponds to SCHEV Hybrid Delivery Modes (B or C).

RA: Fully remote and predominantly asynchronous:  These will be fully remote courses with course content and learning experiences that students can complete at any time.  All courses will include some direct interaction with faculty and, in some cases, with other students at the same time, but the vast majority of instruction will be asynchronously and digitally delivered.  No synchronous full class meetings should be scheduled and no on-campus requirements may be included.  Corresponds to SCHEV Delivery Mode of O.

RSOC:  Predominantly remote and predominantly synchronous, with mandatory on-campus components:  These courses will meet at fixed times with a remote instructor.  In most cases, instruction will be remote with occasional mandatory meetings or assessments on campus. In some courses, students will atend in-person class sessions on-campus, when the faculty member makes arrangements for engaging necessary technology.  Some one-on-one interaction between student and professor will occur. Corresponds to SCHEV Delivery Mode of B.

RSOF:  Fully remote and predominantly synchronous, off-campus:  These courses will meet fully-remotely at fixed times. Instruction will be received remotely by all students. Some instructional material and delivery will be available through approved remote/distance methods (such as Blackboard, Google Classroom, MyLaw, or other digital tools/resources), possibly including discussions. No on-campus requirements may be included.  Some one-on-one interaction between student and professor will occur electronically. Corresponds to SCHEV Delivery Mode of N.
