Colonial CASA Court Appointed Special Advocates

Website: {{}}

Colonial CASA provides child advocacy services by way of well-trained community volunteers who advocate on behalf of community children that have been found to be abused and neglected. Colonial CASA works to ensure that while these children are within the court’s supervision, they are safe, receiving the necessary services in a timely manner, and ultimately will live in a safe and permanent home.

Volunteers are needed to provide the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Judge, and all attorneys, with a carefully researched background of the child and the child’s family situation, and recommend available alternatives to meet the child’s needs, including placement. This information assists the judge in determining the most suitable placement for the child in addition to effectively advocating the child’s legal rights. Volunteers must be at least 21 years of age and commit to one year of service to the program.
