We believe that every person deserves access to quality health care. The mission of the Gloucester-Mathews Free Clinic is to provide community-based care for the residents of Gloucester and Mathews Counties who lack health insurance or enough income to pay for it. Our goal is to provide this care through the efforts of volunteers and paid professional and support staff, and through contributions from churches, civic groups, individuals and businesses who share our values and concern.

Gloucester-Mathews Free Clinic is able to provide medical services through the support of volunteers. Committed individuals are needed in all areas of the clinic operations. You don’t have to be a health care professional to serve. We need volunteers to provide central intake and screening, help with the Newsletter, recruit other volunteers, provide data entry, etc. Volunteer Opportunities Data Processing Front Office Workers: Register patients; pull charts; answer telephone. Medical Professionals: Medical Doctors, Nurses, Pharmacists and CNAs needed at all clinics (at least one clinic per month). Administrative Assistants: Answer phones, correspondence, do inventory, send out greeting cards, schedule patients, help with newsletter. Community Outreach: grant research, get supplies donated, organize fundraisers, distribute newsletters, bring food for clinic volunteers, collect gifts for Christmas.
