Our mission is to create professionally supported, one-to-one mentoring matches for kids who want to realize their full potential.
Volunteer applicants may apply to become a community-based Big in the Williamsburg area. BBBS’ community-based mentoring model is traditional one-to-one mentoring that occurs during out-of-school time (typically evenings or weekends). Bigs and Littles see each other 3-4 times per month, 2-3 hours per outing. Bigs and Littles are matched for a minimum of 12 consecutive months to allow time for children to ignite and harness their own potential by building a positive relationship with their Big.
(Mentors must be 18 years of age or older, have access to dependable transportation, and be willing and able to fulfill the above time commitment for a minimum of 12 months.)
