We pride ourselves on being a "connected" campus here at William & Mary. On any given week day during the fall or spring semester there could be over 100 classrooms in use and it is IT's responsibility to make sure that each one effectively utilizes the best, most reliable technology.
Classroom Support is tasked with the challenge of ensuring reliable technology in over 100 classrooms on campus. When a problem arises in class, the response is so quick that many of us suspect the golf carts they drive are jet-fueled.

The days of transparency sheets on overhead projectors are long gone. The typical William & Mary classroom comes equipped with a podium computer that allows a Government professor to show a video excerpt from the latest episode of the Daily Show or an English professor to play an mp3 recording of Alfred Lord Tennyson reciting his poem "The Charge of the Light Brigade" in the late 19th century. We are all incredibly lucky to have a wealth of information at our fingertips and there is absolutely no reason why we shouldn't be taking full advantage of it in our classrooms every single day.
