Printing Charges

When printing in a campus lab, students will be charged 7 cents per page. Charges will appear on student's  e_Bill from the Bursar's Office.  You start with a balance of zero and the print counter counts backwards as you print. This means that you will see the number of documents you have printed as a negative number. Your account is created with a balance of 0. Each printed page is counted as -1. Your first 5 printed pages would be displayed as -5 for a total of $0.35.

Note: Printing charges are equal to the number of pages printed, even when using duplex printers. One front-and-back sheet will cost $0.14 (equal to 2 printed pages).

Check your printing balance

You can see your printing balance two ways.

Quick View
You can find the total after you log on to any PACLab computer via the small dollar sign icon in the system tray near the clock. Double click it to see your balance.  If you do not see the icon, click the "Show Hidden Icons" up arrow in the system tray.

To see how many pages you have printed, leave your mouse over the icon for a few seconds or double click the icon; the latter pops up a window that states your W&M Username and your current print balance (again a negative number).

Statement & Itemized Charges
You can also view your printing account statement (as well as phone service statement) with an itemized list of charges.

  1. Go to the IT Services billing site at https://itservices.wm.edu/selfservice
  2. Login with your W&M Username and Password.
  3. Click on My Account on the left-hand side of the page.

On the My Account screen, you will see charges from your previous statement as well as charges since the latest statement.  To view an itemized report of charges, click on the "View Details" button.

Note:  The statement does not include the payments made to your account.  Only the Bursar's Office can tell you payment information.

Charges & Credits

If you fail to log out or allow others to print from your account, you are still responsible for all print outs made under your account.

You may request credits to your print counter for print-outs that printed incorrectly or illegibly because of a hardware or software error. Students who feel they should receive a credit should contact the Technology Support Center (TSC) by telephone at 757-221-4357 (HELP), via email at [[support]], or in person in Jones Hall, Room 201. All discrepancies must be reported within a 30 day period.
