So, what is WMApps?

WMApps is the email service for students and alumni. Along with Email you will also have access to the following Google Apps: Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Sites and Calendar.

What is my WMApps email address?

Your WMApps email address is formatted as (i.e. Don't forget, your WMApps password should be distinct from your WMuserid password (aka the one you use for Banner)!

Who is issued a WMApps email account?

All current W&M students, alumni (graduated beginning Spring 2007), and student organizations are issued WMApps email accounts.   

Can I get a WMApps email account if I am a faculty/staff member?

Yes. If you are a current faculty/staff member, you can request a WMApps email account by sending a request to [[support]].

(Note: If an WMApps account is requested, the account automatically becomes your default email address.  To set your default email account back to your address, send an email to the [[support, Technology Support Center]] requesting the change.)

Will my WMApps email account have ads since it is Gmail?

No. WMApps powered by Google will not have ads.

Do William & Mary Acceptable Use Policies apply to WMApps?

Yes. All policies regarding appropriate use of email accounts and on campus computer resources apply to these Google services.  In addition, Google maintains strict privacy polices and will require you to accept its privacy policy the first time you log in to WMApps powered by Google. 

I am graduating, will I lose my WMApps email account?

No. WM alumni continue to have access to their WMApps email account. Congratulations, Graduate!

Can I forward my email to another account?

Yes, you can forward your email to another account. However, all official communication from W&M will be sent to your WMApps email account. 

To forward email from WMApps to another account:

  1. Log in to your WMApp email:
  2. Select the gear button in the top right corner.
  3. You will be prompted with a dropdown menu.
  4. Select Settings in the menu.
  5. Select Forwarding and POP/IMAP from the horizontal bar of choices at the top of the screen.
  6. Select Add Forwarding Address under the Forwarding heading.
  7. Enter the desired forwarding address.
  8. When complete, click Save Changes.
Can I use Outlook or another email client with my WMApps Email Account?

Yes.  However, IT recommends checking your email using the web at
