MatLab

MatLab Runs Slow When Outputting Data to an Excel Spreadsheet

Occasionally, a MatLab routine which outputs information into an Excel spreadsheet will run much slower than expected. For instance, a program which should take less than 20 seconds to complete may instead take five or up to ten minutes.

If you are experiencing this behavior, it is most likely an adverse interaction with the Excel ChemBioOffice COM Add-In. You can manually turn off this Add-In using the procedures for enabling it. Follow the directions there, but instead of turning ON the Add-In as indicated, you will be turning it OFF.

Once the Add-In is turned OFF, you will be able to re-run your program and see it complete much more quickly.
