Through a joint effort in 2009, Digital Measures’ ActivityInsight™ system (DMS) was adopted by each of the university’s five schools for full implementation. The system utilizes a combination of information imports from the Banner system as well as data entered and maintained by faculty or faculty support staff. The system provides a range of reporting services to faculty and administrators in each school and, as appropriate, to the Offices of the Provost and Institutional Accreditation & Effectiveness.
The purpose of Digital Measures at William & Mary is multifold. With ease, faculty interest, expertise and research can be identified to facilitate collaboration across the university, publicize possible funding opportunities and advocate for additional resources. The data entered can feed to faculty websites that define their areas of teaching, scholarship, and academic degrees and achievements. And the data can feed to vitas and a variety of other reports required by deans and accrediting agencies such as SACSCOC, CAEP, ABA and AACSB.
