The William & Mary Supervisors Institute is a program designed to help current supervisors improve their skills and knowledge. It is specifically designed to provide both a broad overview of supervisory skills and responsibilities and to provide specific knowledge and coaching at the individual level. Outside experts, faculty, and staff leaders provide instruction using a variety of methods. William & Mary policies, practices, protocols, and procedures are covered during the institute.
The Supervisors Institute is offered once a year, in the fall, and is comprised of a kick-off breakfast and five 4-hour sessions spaced throughout the semester. The course ends with a celebratory luncheon. Attendance at all instructional sessions is mandatory. Dates for the fall institute will be published as soon as possible so supervisors can plan to attend.
Applications for fall 2016 will be available during the summer and notifications of acceptance will be given before the fall semester begins.
The application is a two-part process. Applicants must complete a form. And the applicant's immediate supervisor must complete a recommendation form before an application is considered complete.
